Introduction
I was tasked with creating a gas station demo application to be shown at a trade show. The hardware the demo was featured on featured a 12" touchscreen and soft keys, so button size and hit areas were taken into account.
The application was meant to be white labeled, so we just branded it with our company's logo. The background illustration was sourced from a stock source and then I modified it slightly with Adobe Illustrator to accommodate the proper spacing we needed for messaging fields, video and other media.
There are numerous possible configurations prospective clients could mix and match. The screens below illustrate just a few of those possibilities.
The designs were tested for usability before being presented at the show, but since the intention was for it to be white labeled with the customer's branding, we really were concerned with providing a good base for our customers to start to modify and we also produced a best practices document they could use as a guide when designing their own UI.
